Fusion has the Future

The Basics - INFO

Fusion is the oldest form of energy generation, fueling our sun and all other stars.

Fusion is joining light atoms (such as H, D, T, He, Li etc.) together with high speed/pressure/temperature, as opposed to Fission which is splitting heavy atoms such as uranium.

Fusion is an Alternative Energy source since it does not have the problems of fossil fuels or classical nuclear power.

Fusion is technically difficult to achieve and there are MANY different ways of doing it.

ITER is the most ambitious international project at this time where 7 large countries are working together to build a demo power station in Cadarache (South of France) with the Tokamak concept.

But there are many different concepts at various stadia of research that also claim to (have) produce(d) stable fusion.

The FUSION ENERGY FOUNDATION aims to assess and compare these alternative concepts, to promote the promising one(s) and to enhance public knowledge and acceptance of fusion as an alternative energy source.
